The type of classes that I detest

Universities are places of learning, where a group of people get together to realize their collective academic dreams. Nowadays, more and more college students like skipping their classes. This action has caused a great deal of social concern and criticism. The reason why students skipping classes is they detest that classes. As for me, the type of classes that I detest are boring classes, classes at a bad timing and bad environment.
To begin with, I detest a boring classes. Sometime I feel that classes are boring and view my lecturers' teaching methods as not suitable for me. If the lecturer is the mere transmitter of information without actively engaging students in any part of the lesson, the students will inevitably be confined to boredom. I become bored in my classes because the material is not presented in such a way that I’m engaged and motivated. Learning should always be fun. If the classroom environment is totally in lecturer's control and students don't ever contribute to the flow of the lesson, learning will take place at a very slow and inefficient pace.
Apart from that, I also detest the classes at a bad timing, which makes me unable to concentrate on class.I detest that classes at 8.00a.m. because it is too early for me to get out of bed. I usually stay up late for study, so morning classes is very unsuitable for me. I often cannot concentrate in class, even fall asleep in the classroom. Another classes that I detest is night classes. As my house is far away from school, every day I walk 10 minutes to school. Therefore, classes at night is very dangerous for me, as I need walk alone go back home. I also detest the consecutive classes. I’m compelled to attend classes one after one without any pause. This cause transmission system from one subject to another is also defective.
Most of all, I detest the classes that are under bad environment. As we know, students need a good environment to study and learn. Therefore, how can a bad environment let the students pay attention during classes? I do not like the classrooms that are under bad condition, such as classrooms too hot or too cold. This type of classrooms let me feel very uncomfortable, thus can not concentrate on learning. In addition, I do not like the smaller and crowded classrooms. My classes have about 70 people, smaller classrooms are often not accommodate. I usually sit at the back seat and I often did not catch the lecturer's explanation, lead me very confused.
In a nutshell, everyone have their own views and opinions in classes that their detest. I do not know if everyone agree with me, but a boring classes, classes at a bad timing and bad environment are definitely the classes that I detest.

How to stay awake during classes

Nowadays, students fall asleep in class are the event frequently happened. What causes students fall asleep in class? Is the student too tired or the lectures too boring? The majority of reasons are the students too tired. When students too tired, they will listless all day. Because energy levels greatly impact students mood, if their tired, their gonna tend to fell down a whole lot, and generally, disconnected and less interested in what's going on around them. Therefore, the situation that student fall asleep during the classes bring more harms than good. This situation should be solve immediately, otherwise may be affect the student’s academic performance. The way to stay awake during classes are having a healthy diet, pay attention during lecture and having a healthy lifestyle.
First of all,the best way to stay away during classes is having a healthy diet. You can eat a substantial breakfast.Having a healthy breakfast is a good way to get your metabolism and energy up and running for your day. If you skipping out eat breakfast, it may leave you unfocused and unable to concentrate or stay awake until lunch. You should never come to class hungry, because an empty stomach won't help your brain and body fully work. In simple words, an empty stomach distracts your concentration. You can also eat healthy portions of fruits, cereal or oatmeal as it contains low carbs. It helps your body and mind not only rejuvenated due to loss of energy but to become more focused and you will be able to pay more attention during lectures throughout the class period. Drink caffeine before going to class such as a soda, coffee or tea so it can keep you alerted. Energy-boosted drinks, "Red Bull" or "Essence of Chicken" helps build stamina and keep you energized during the time you're in class.
Next, pay attention during lecture is also a good way to stay awake during classes. You can participate in class discussions whenever you feel the need of dozing off. While some students believe that most lectures from their professors is a bore, there are a few that be quite thought-provoking and grab your interests to keep you mentally responsive of what is going on in a class room. You can also keep yourself busy in that class. You can take notes, do your homework and ask questions. Do stuff like that to keep yourself busy and alert. Besides, you must position yourself well in the classroom. You can sit in the front rows, or stand along the wall.It will help you pay attention and stay awake during class. You should get interested in the lecture. A lot of your interest in a lecture is affected by your attitude. If you go in thinking it’s going to be boring, you’ll probably be bored. Even if you’re taking a required class, try to get interested in the lecture each day.It will help you stay alert.
Finally, having a healthy lifestyle can help you stay awake during classes. You must get at least 8 hours of sleep the night before. As we know, getting enough sleep is often easier said than done . So, you should training your body to only sleep at night is essential .You can also wake up an extra hour early before leaving the house. This may seems to make a person more tired than ever, but believe it or not, this can help you prepared for a busy day and get energized. You can try to exercise in the morning. This will give you a rush and could make you feel less sluggish. For instance, you can ride, walk or even skate to school. This is an easy way to get morning exercise. A morning exercise prepares your body for that tedious stair-climbing and helps blood circulate to your brain. You can also take a napping but this is not mandatory. It’s not a bad thing if you have time and you need to rest your eyes. A nap 15 – 30 minutes is best for a power nap, making you feel energized and refreshed when you get up. If you take a longer napping, it will make you feel even more tired and lazy.
In conclusion, the way to stay awake during classes are having a healthy diet, pay attention during lecture and having a healthy lifestyle. If the students follow the methods above, they will solve the problem dozing off in class. Students will be more focus on the class and more understand the lecturer's talk. Therefore, students will be able to obtain excellent and impressive results.

My life in MMU

In a flash, I live in Malacca has been nearly two months. I am not a native, had just started to feel very unfamiliar to the environment of Malacca. But now have started to adapt, have even become used to it. Studying in MMU is the main purpose I came to Malacca. MMU has recently been selected as the best private university in Malaysia, once again proved MMU perfect educational system. This university is a platform for learning that is increasingly gaining recognition and reputation worldwide. MMU, an university that I will be study four years , will be in my life another important starting point.

As we know, each university will organize a week orientation, MMU also no exception. Orientation Programme has been planned to give insights of the university life to the new students and expose them to various opportunities that are waiting to be grabbed. Through Orientation Programme,we should familiarize ourselves with the various features and facilities offered around the campus and take this opportunity to make new friends. Orientation Programme have been prepared a lot of activities, such as briefing programme, sports carnival and many games. During Orientation Programme, all students were divided into four colour groups, that is red, yellow, blue and green.Fortunately,I was allocate to the red group and got a nice O.C. lead us. I was most impressed is Orientation Night. Orientation Programme drew to a close last night with Orientation Night. Each colour group as well as the O.C.s performed a short sketch themed around life in a university. Throughout the Orientation Night, each of the colour groups also competed in a “shouting match” by showing off their group cheers and “attacking” others. The Orientation Night ended at midnight. Earlier in the evening, an official closing ceremony was held simultaneously with Cyberjaya campus via video conferencing. School orchestrated orientation, can be said to colorful, everybody enjoys pleasure.
After the Orientation Programme, I started attended the classes that I register during the orientation. I register four subjects that is English, Business Mathematics,Principles of Economics and Accounting. My first class is English lesson and my English lecturer is miss Jasline, a smiling teacher . On the English class we all feel very comfortable. The next day, I went to the Accounting and Business Mathematics courses. I am very familiar with these two subjects, as I was learned in high school before. Because of the basis in high school, let me more understanding of the knowledge taught by lecturers. On the third day, I went to a course on principles of economics. At first I was disgusted with this subject, completely fail to understand, because this is my first time learning this subject. But under lecturer's careful guidance and the explanation, I began to understand, and even began to be interested in this subject. All the lecturers are very friendly and careful in explanation let me study very smoothly. I was determined to study hard in order to obtain excellent results by did not disappoint the lecturer and parents' expectation.
Besides, I recognize many new friends that are from different states in Malaysia and a few of international students. MMU gathered China, Malay, India and foreign students, may say that is the multiplex big family. We can get a better understanding through the exchange of our respective cultures, customs and habits. Up to now, we all get along well. By doing the assignment, we can play the spirit of cooperation. Because of our mutual cooperation and understanding, assignment could be completed successfully. Everyone need a friend, no one would want to always live alone in the island. Friends make my life in university more colorful and meaningful.
In conclusion, I am very pleased to study in MMU. In addition, within this university environment, I can choose to learn many other things as well, which will all be important in my life in future as a global citizen. I will make the most of the opportunities available so that my years in MMU will be both challenging and rewarding.
