In a flash, I live in Malacca has been nearly two months. I am not a native, had just started to feel very unfamiliar to the environment of Malacca. But now have started to adapt, have even become used to it. Studying in MMU is the main purpose I came to Malacca. MMU has recently been selected as the best private university in Malaysia, once again proved MMU perfect educational system. This university is a platform for learning that is increasingly gaining recognition and reputation worldwide. MMU, an university that I will be study four years , will be in my life another important starting point.
As we know, each university will organize a week orientation, MMU also no exception. Orientation Programme has been planned to give insights of the university life to the new students and expose them to various opportunities that are waiting to be grabbed. Through Orientation Programme,we should familiarize ourselves with the various features and facilities offered around the campus and take this opportunity to make new friends. Orientation Programme have been prepared a lot of activities, such as briefing programme, sports carnival and many games. During Orientation Programme, all students were divided into four colour groups, that is red, yellow, blue and green.Fortunately,I was allocate to the red group and got a nice O.C. lead us. I was most impressed is Orientation Night. Orientation Programme drew to a close last night with Orientation Night. Each colour group as well as the O.C.s performed a short sketch themed around life in a university. Throughout the Orientation Night, each of the colour groups also competed in a “shouting match” by showing off their group cheers and “attacking” others. The Orientation Night ended at midnight. Earlier in the evening, an official closing ceremony was held simultaneously with Cyberjaya campus via video conferencing. School orchestrated orientation, can be said to colorful, everybody enjoys pleasure.
After the Orientation Programme, I started attended the classes that I register during the orientation. I register four subjects that is English, Business Mathematics,Principles of Economics and Accounting. My first class is English lesson and my English lecturer is miss Jasline, a smiling teacher . On the English class we all feel very comfortable. The next day, I went to the Accounting and Business Mathematics courses. I am very familiar with these two subjects, as I was learned in high school before. Because of the basis in high school, let me more understanding of the knowledge taught by lecturers. On the third day, I went to a course on principles of economics. At first I was disgusted with this subject, completely fail to understand, because this is my first time learning this subject. But under lecturer's careful guidance and the explanation, I began to understand, and even began to be interested in this subject. All the lecturers are very friendly and careful in explanation let me study very smoothly. I was determined to study hard in order to obtain excellent results by did not disappoint the lecturer and parents' expectation.
Besides, I recognize many new friends that are from different states in Malaysia and a few of international students. MMU gathered China, Malay, India and foreign students, may say that is the multiplex big family. We can get a better understanding through the exchange of our respective cultures, customs and habits. Up to now, we all get along well. By doing the assignment, we can play the spirit of cooperation. Because of our mutual cooperation and understanding, assignment could be completed successfully. Everyone need a friend, no one would want to always live alone in the island. Friends make my life in university more colorful and meaningful.
In conclusion, I am very pleased to study in MMU. In addition, within this university environment, I can choose to learn many other things as well, which will all be important in my life in future as a global citizen. I will make the most of the opportunities available so that my years in MMU will be both challenging and rewarding.
Dearest Shu Miin,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your experience with us. The many examples given make me feel that I was also there experiencing the events with you :) hehe Good. Nonetheless, must continue to work on your grammar *especially on the use of the correct form of tenses which we will soon learn in class* and vocabulary or word choice ya; for example, we cant say that we are not natives of Melaka but we are not from Melaka or just I am not local.
Continue writing ya :) Practice makes perfect! :)
Luv,
Jasline
